1Make a well with the flour, put the salt around the outside, and add the yeast, egg, milk, butter, sugar, and vanilla to the center.
The Why
Salt on the rim keeps it off the yeast until mixing; the well lets you pull the dry flour into the wet gradually for an even dough.
